Ok, you've got to see this! I have begun a new technique using real gold-metal leaf on specially prepared panels, which allows the gold to show through in the background.
The gold leafing in the panel allows for an unbelieveably lusterous look, which is unmatched with any other technique. Please see the close-ups on eBay for an idea of the golden shine, but your jaw will drop when you see it in person! I love this. :-)

Looks very shiny indeed! You cover with gold the whole panel before oilpainting ist following on the dry goldground? Do you matter, if I try this also for example?
